Hello,

My name is Candice Boyd, and I am a dental hygiene major at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. I was crowned Miss UA Fort Smith on March 19th 2005. I have been a student here for two years. Last year I placed second runner-up receiving great scholarship money. This year I walked away with $6,300 to help further my education at the University.

As Miss UA Fort Smith, I plan to raise awareness on the effects of Tobacco. My plat form is "Tobacco Awareness", and I want others to hear my story on why I chose this issue and why they should be tobacco-free.

As of January 1, 2005 the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith became tobacco-free. I am very proud to be a student at this University.
